Special to the News
The Equality Methodist Church will host its annual Homecoming Sunday, September 15, at Equality Methodist Church. The church is located at 281 Alabama Highway 259, off Highway 9 in Equality.
A special music service will begin at 10 a.m. featuring the gospel band “We’re Still Here.” The worship service will follow at 11 a.m., with more great music and an inspiring message by EMC pastor, Rev. Wayne Cowhick of Alexander City.
There will be a covered-dish lunch to follow in the fellowship hall. The church is furnishing the meat. Please bring covered dishes and desserts for everyone to enjoy! All who attend will receive a blessing! We encourage visitors from surrounding areas to join us for the Homecoming Celebration. Everyone is welcome! Enjoy wonderful food, fellowship and fun!
Equality Methodist Church has a proud history in the community and a rich heritage in the area. EMC has many mission projects ongoing such as Food for the Souls, DHR drop-off ministry, choir specials, and the monthly Food Drop programs, to name a few.
This year’s Homecoming will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude after luncheon. Former EMC members, pastors and guests are encouraged to attend Homecoming on September 15.
