On Monday, August 12, officers with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit apprehended two individuals in Tuscaloosa in connection to a homicide investigation that occurred in Macon County on Thursday, August 8.
Elijah Rogers, 18, and Barthonia Howard, 18, both of Notasulga, were arrested and formally charged with murder and attempted murder.
Rogers and Howard were booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail with a hold for Macon County with no bond. Both Rogers and Howard will be tried as adults.
The arrests were made as part of an ongoing homicide investigation, led by the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation, in which a 16-year-old juvenile was found deceased in the 100 block of Union Camp Road in Notasulga.
A 17-year-old juvenile was also injured over the course of the incident and transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
Nothing further is available as the investigation remains ongoing. Once complete, the findings will be turned over to the Macon County District Attorney’s Office.
