Young Greyson Coggins enjoys taking a dip and cooling off in the water at Rockford Church of God’s Water Day Blast.
Rockford Church of God celebrated its annual Water Day Blast on Saturday, August 10, with the church on the run. God had put on Pastor Chris Hill’s heart to reach out to the community, having fun with God, and it has been a great success. Thanks to Mayor Scott White and the people of Rockford.
Everyone had fun. Young and old dipped into the water, including our baby of the church, little Greyson Coggins. Greyson said, “I will not be left out,” and he took a dip. He is a precious little baby. Everyone at church loves him and rushes to be the first one to hold him, and Madison Hill is always the one.
I believe the grownups enjoyed and had more fun than the kids in the water and eating sno-balls. Pastor Ray and Lady Amy Franklin brought their “Mom and Pop’s New Orleans Style Sno-Balls” truck for the kids to keep their mouths cool and for whoever else wanted to drink from the fountain of the Franklins’ love. It was a great fun day for everyone.
Some were tired and worn out on Sunday, but not too tired to enjoy a wonderful worship service with Minister Jerry and Crysta Russell ushering us into a powerful moment of praise and worship that broke the yoke of strongholds. It took Pastor Hill into a place that he could barely preach, but God did it all.
I want to take this moment to thank God for an elder of the church, Deacon Wayne Weeks, a quiet faithful man of God who spoke a word of prophecy over the church some years ago, and it has come to pass. This faithful man of God did not give up. When some said “no,” God said “yes,” and Bro. Weeks believed God and not man.
Butch and I love Bro. Weeks, and just to be in his presence gives us strength. He encourages my faith to a higher level in God, as my (deceased) mother always did. I say sometimes that he took the place of my mom in that area. Thank you, Bro. Weeks. You and your (deceased) lovely wife, Agnes, mean a lot to me. You are special to me and Butch, and we love you!
Many of us Christians have been tested and tried these last months. However, when you read I Peter 1:7-9 you can pass the test and score with an “A.” It reads, “…that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith – the salvation of your souls.”

Happy birthday to Misty Hines and Austin Dash.
