A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:37 a.m. Tuesday, August 13, has claimed the life of a Phenix City man.
Tyler S. Smith. 28, was fatally injured when the 2022 Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycle he was operating struck a deer. Smith was thrown from the motorcycle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Lee County Road 254 near U.S. Highway 280, approximately seven miles east of Opelika, in Lee County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
