Special to the News
Last month was a particularly busy time for the Goodwater Disabled Veterans Organization, with activities involving adults and youth alike.
Following ticket sales, the organization held its annual fundraiser, seeking donations. The efforts of the fundraiser came to fruition with a drawing held on July 13, with many cash prizes being drawn that day. One such local winner was Gwen Rich.
However, the organization did not stop there, following the annual fundraiser drawing with an event for local youth.
On July 22, the Goodwater Disabled Veterans sponsored a watermelon cutting at the Goodwater Youth Development & Recreational Center for a great summer program. Youth and attending adults alike enjoyed the fruity treat and had a great day.
