A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 4:18 p.m. Saturday, June 22, has claimed the life of a Camp Hill man.
Cecil T. Tinsley, 66, was fatally injured when the 2005 Lexus ES330 in which he was a passenger left the roadway and struck a tree before overturning. The Lexus was driven by Christol L. Slaughter, 39, also of Camp Hill.
Tinsley was not using a seat belt and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Slaughter was not using a seat belt and was transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham.
A 4-year-old juvenile passenger was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 50 near the 14-mile marker, approximately six miles south of Camp Hill, in Tallapoosa County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
