Empowered to Conquer, or ETC, held its second annual Coosa County Night of Vision at the Weogufka Family Worship Center, in which two Central seniors received scholarships.
Rebekah Burton (pictured first from left) and Sidney Thornton (pictured third from the right) were each presented with a $4,000 scholarship.
Brittany Leonard Hogan, the director of ETC and a Central graduate herself, said, “It is the goal of ETC to help students courageously walk in His purpose for their lives. To give them confidence in this pursuit, our mission is to develop faith, promote education and build relationships with students.” Students have the opportunity to participate in a career development and mentorship program that helps ensure they have a career plan they are passionate about fulfilling along with the social and emotional maturity to last when they achieve it. ETC also has an annual youth retreat called Limitless Retreat and groups post-retreat to help build on the encouragement students received.
Mrs. Hogan added, “All of these programs are only possible because of the village of community supporters, corporations and churches who rally around the students and support each program. The Annual Night of Vision is ETC’s annual fundraiser designed to bring this village together in an effort to expand to support these amazing students in a deeper way each year. ETC was able to serve 620 students in Central Alabama this year.”
Congratulations, Rebekah and Sidney, on your scholarship award.
