CES students were treated to Pelican’s Snoballs and free books to kick off their summer reading. The snowballs were a welcome treat on a hot day outside. They also received two books for summer reading. This was made possible by the Literacy Everywhere! Grant.
Meg Masters, program director for Literacy Everywhere!, also provided summer reading tips for adults to help support their students’ reading over the summer. Summer reading is critical to a child’s ability to not only retain information learned the previous year, but also to grow in knowledge and critical thinking skills for the coming year.
CES students have made tremendous progress with their reading skills this year, and the Literacy Everywhere! helps students continue to grow with their literacy skills while making reading fun.
Additional summer reading events will be announced soon, so please follow Literacy Everywhere! on Facebook at Literacy Everywhere-Coosa County Schools and on Instagram at literacy_everywhere_coosa for upcoming events and fun literacy activities.
