Dear Editor,
Confederate States President Jefferson Davis was the last American president of the original United States, created as a voluntary union of low-taxed, independent states by the founding fathers.
Republican Abraham Lincoln and his Wall Street billionaires invaded and overthrew this voluntary union to collect a 200% tax on steel plows used by farmers, creating a compulsory union of high-taxed colonies of the federal government, as under Great Britain before 1776.
April 29, 1861, President Davis explained from inside Alabama’s Capitol in his Message to the Confederate States Congress: “An organization (voluntary Union) created by the states to secure the blessings of liberty and independence against foreign aggression, has been gradually perverted into a machine for their control.
“The creature (federal government) has been exalted above its creators (the states).” (Paragraph 1-2)
Shamefully, all Alabama Republican State representatives recently voted for a very divisive Bill by Rep. Chris Sells, Republican-Greenville, Rep. Rick Rehm, Republican-Dothan and Rep. Juandalynn Givan, Democrat-Birmingham, which insults Jefferson Davis’ Holiday.
Their Bill forces state employees to choose between celebrating Jefferson Davis or the Juneteenth, which falsely claims slavery ended on June 19, 1865. However, Kentucky, Delaware and New Jersey did not “end” slavery until the 13th Amendment passed December 6, 1865.
In practice, slavery was not abolished, only the name changed to sharecropper, with 5 million whites and 3.5 million Blacks working on land stolen by Lincoln’s billionaires.
Ultimately, Democrats killed this Bill, not wanting to share the holiday with Jefferson Davis, who was a slave owner, as was Abraham of the Bible.
