Mr. Harmon is in his first year teaching, but you would never know it. Mr. Harmon quickly picked up the art of teaching and has built a great rapport with the students and provides quality instruction every day. Mr. Harmon is the seventh and eighth grade social studies teacher, which includes instruction in geography, civics and ancient world history. Mr. Harmon expressed that it is important for him that his students learn, and he wants them to know that he cares about them. He also hopes that through his instruction students have learned that hard work pays off. When asked what he loves most about his job, Mr. Harmon simply responded, “My kids.” Besides his teaching responsibilities, Mr. Harmon also assists with the football program.
Lastly, Mr. Harmon stated, “Being a good teacher is not based on what you know. Being a good teacher is based on how well you can teach.”
We are very thankful Mr. Harmon joined the Central Coosa staff this year, and we look forward to many more years.
