Equality & NIxburg News

I overbooked my time, burning the candle on both ends. Not sure how I let this happen when I keep telling myself I will say no and not volunteer for anything further, but here I am again wondering where I will find six extra hours each day.
I started my garden, and I have turkeys and geese sitting on nests. Plus, my full-time job is really busy and stressful right now, and I have lawns to mow, a house to finish renovating, pigs and Muscovy to sell, spring plants to stock and sell at the garden center, while trying to keep the little general store afloat. And on top off all this I decided to make a dress to wear to a spring gala at the F. Scott Fitzgerald museum this coming weekend.
I need to learn to just say no and carve out some time just to sit and watch the grass grow. The gala was supposed to be a nice evening out having fun with my husband, but this dress pattern I chose is proving to be quite challenging without a dress form. The trip last week to view the eclipse was supposed to be a fun outing with the family, but losing two days to work on things going on in my life has only increased my current workload. Next week I will slow down and just say no, unless…
Tonight, April 19, is Karaoke Night at Coosa Live (formerly known as Equality Performing Arts Center). Come enjoy an evening out enjoying live music. While it is not mandatory, you are encouraged to bring a dish of shareable food for our “Potluck,” and if you can afford to drop something into the donation jar for the music, it helps keep the lights on. Coosa Live provides free coffee, iced tea, water, and fresh-popped popcorn, as well as some of the potluck offerings.
Thursday, April 25, is the next Equality Neighborhood Watch meeting from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Please plan on attending an informative and enjoyable social event.
Please join in on Saturday, April 27, at 4 p.m. at the Equality Volunteer Fire Department Hall on Highway 9 for a fun night of Bingo. This is a fund-raising event to support the Equality Volunteer Fire Department. Games are $1 a card, and it is lots of fun. There are concession sales, and all proceeds support the EVFD, so come join the fun.
I depend upon my readers to share with me what is happening within your organizations, churches, neighborhoods, groups, or family to share in next week’s column. Please contact me; leave a voice message or text 256-531-6460 or email at coosacafe@gmail.com.
