A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 8:25 a.m. Monday, March 4, has claimed the life of a Sylacauga man.
Jeremiah J. Johns, 44, was fatally injured when the 2007 BMW 3 Series he was driving left the roadway and struck an embankment before overturning and striking a tree.
Johns was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash, was ejected and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 9 near the 154-mile marker, approximately four miles south of Kellyton, in Coosa County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
