In addition to solving cases and making arrests, the Sheriff’s Office has continued to make great headway in recovering stolen property.
The Sheriff’s Office investigators have recovered more than $100,000 in property in the first month of the new year. This property was in the form of stolen vehicles, trailers, recreational vehicles, and motors.
Although the cases have not gone to trial and specific details cannot be expanded on at this time, arrests have been made in connection with these cases.
This is quite an accomplishment, even though last year there was approximately $800,000 worth of stolen items recovered such as vehicles, tools and recreational motor vehicles. Investigators continue to follow up on information provided by the citizens of Coosa County who are looking out for their neighbors.
It is the citizens who can often supply vital information that helps in solving the cases. Sheriff Michael Howell would like to thank the communities for their continued support.
Anyone who observes or suspects illegal activity or stolen property is encouraged to report it to the Sheriff’s Office at 256-377-4922 or online at www.coosacountyso.org. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
