It’s hard to catch up when you’ve been out of town for a week and only have a couple of days to come up with things to talk about. I could go on and on about our cruise to the Bahamas – but I won’t! Just know Coosa County was well represented on the Carnival Spirit out of Mobile last week!
I saw posts on Facebook that there were broken pipes, extreme cold and lots of rain while I was gone. We left Rockford at 18 degrees, left Mobile in the 30s with wind and rain, finally had an 80-degree day somewhere along the way, and came back to Mobile with the weather in the 40s. We have traveled in January before and always found the weather great – of course, this was not normal weather anywhere!
It was a week without access to much news, but it does seem like the presidential election has pretty much settled on Trump/Biden – unless the Democratic Party somehow figures out how to replace Biden.
I just cannot understand why Jill Biden would allow her husband she claims to love so much to end his political career as a sad shell of a man. While I’ve had my guesses on who is actually running the government, there are so many from the Obama administration involved that it’s hard to nail it down to any one person.
I’m hearing that President Biden has finally accepted that we have a crisis at our southern border. He brought this on us himself when he – on DAY ONE of his administration – issued executive orders to remove the “stay in Mexico” requirement, to stop building the wall that we had already funded and that was stopping people from coming through, and opened the border to people from countries around the world. And even the sanctuary cities have been complaining that they don’t have the funds to support all the illegal immigrants from coming in.
Well, they signed up for it when they designated themselves as refuge areas. Keep in mind, all of these cities are run by elected Democrats. Now, many of the citizens of those cities are realizing that their tax dollars are now being spent to care for these illegals instead of them as American citizens. Medical care and education are overrun, hotels that used to bring in tax revenue are now being taken over by the cities to house immigrants, and there are not enough services to go around.
I’m personally proud of Gov. Abbott in Texas for standing against this invasion of our country. He has been sending illegals to the sanctuary cities who now don’t want them. The federal government has the responsibility to protect “We the People,” but the administration claims they don’t have funding to control the border, even when they refuse to follow the current laws on the books to do so. I realized after having only CBS news to watch for a week why so many people are confused! They only report the narrative from a left-leaning point of view and opinions rather that facts.
There are now (as of yesterday – Monday) 25 states that have signed on to support Texas in trying to enforce OUR border. By the way, none of them are Democratic states. Quite a few of those states are even sending law enforcement and National Guard units to help Texas. The administration is threatening to go down and remove the razor wire that is being put up so the illegals won’t have to deal with it coming in. The cartels continue to make fortunes getting up to $20,000 per person to bring people to the border – where do these people who claim to have NOTHING get that kind of money? The cartel members have become so brazen they wave to the cameras along the border as they escort the illegals in! The majority of these people crossing the border do not look like they have walked hundreds/thousands of miles, they have their own cell phones, and now many of these are from Communist countries like China, Venezuela and areas of Europe. There have been many people already on the terrorist watch list that have been caught – but what about all ones who have gotten through?
The U.S. House of Representatives is currently working to impeach Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of Homeland SECURITY. I will be greatly surprised if any Democrats vote in favor, but I won’t be surprised if there aren’t a couple of Republicans who will also vote against it.
Unfortunately, I don’t see much improvement in our economy, the border, or response to our troops being attacked until there is a change in the administration and Congress. I just don’t understand how people who support the major political parties can see things so entirely different! It’s called being sheep and following instructions on both sides. My main question is what is wrong with thinking that America and Americans should come first instead of supporting almost all the other countries in the world?
