Volunteer Connections of Central Alabama Inc., or VCCA, along with the Coosa County Extension Office and Chamber of Commerce, is sponsoring a free income tax assistance program. VCCA will have preparers stationed at Rockford Methodist Church, located at 9916 U.S. Highway 231, each week from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free service is available for those whose income is $62,000 or less or for individuals who are 60 years and older with any amount of income. Walk-ins are welcome; however, appointments will take priority. To make an appointment for the Rockford location, call VCCA in Alexander City at 256-234-0347.
