Union Square News
Ruby Johnson
Union Square’s Neighborhood Watch meeting is Monday, February 5, at 6 p.m. Everyone is encouraged to come out to this very important meeting to start the year off. We missed last month because of the bad rainy weather, so come out and see what’s going on in the neighborhood and other communities.
Engineer Tad Eason and the Coosa County Highway Department send their prayers and condolences to Greg Moon and families in the loss of his mother, Mrs. Annie Lee Moon. Greg is a hard and great worker for the Highway Department and a very respectful young man. You can see he was raised by a wonderful mother and father, Mr. J.W. Moon.
I really miss reading Mrs. Shirley Cunard’s “Hanover News” community column in “The Coosa County News.” We used to communicate in various ways, especially when I asked a question or had a “why.” She would always have an answer for me. Thank you, Mrs. Shirley. I miss you and am hoping all is well.
When people don’t understand things, they say “they don’t exist.” When people don’t know God, they say “He doesn’t exist.” However, when people know Jesus they can understand it all! Understanding Jesus is real love. Real, true, perfect love is when Jesus looked beyond laying down His life for our sins to taking up His life for our eternal future with Him.
He desires to share with us the glory of perfect love unhindered by sin. Jesus’ relationship with God the Father and Holy Spirit loved us first and died in our place so that we could spend eternity with Him. I thank God for Jesus giving us the opportunity to experience the real and lasting love of His presence. I pray that the ones who don’t know Jesus will soften their hearts and praise Him and get to know Him for themselves.
We want to commend Commissioner Brandon Davis for being a faithful commissioner. We are aware of the great things he does, unnoticed by some. He is a quiet person; however, a loud service.
Let us continue to pray for Pastor Mark Leonard, Pastor Wilbert Johnson, Sis. Joyce Taylor, Lady Vickie Hicks, Mother Cathy Dennis, Lydia Waters, Taylor Johnson, the Johnson brothers, Kareem and Bernard, Lady Sylvia Johnson, all preachers and pastors, and all pastors’ and preachers’ wives.
“The most rebellious thing you can do is to stay who you are.”
“You’ve got to get kicked in life to figure out what you’re going to do.”
