Mikey and Susan Taylor’s beautiful live Christmas tree, featuring ornaments with photos of their children.
Christmas is considered over with society, but not with me. I am still rejoicing over the early, long Christmas celebration of Jesus. Butch and I attended worship service on Christmas Eve, with Austin and Amber Dash performing so well that it turned the church upside down, and Pastor Hill got lost in the spirit of fire that he was burned up, losing everything he had except the Holy Ghost and could not preach. However, the Holy Ghost took over.
Austin and Amber are two anointed singers. When Austin sang “Mary, did you Know?” I was totally lost in the spirit. Then I found myself at the home of two spiritual people, our nephew and niece, Mikey and Susan Taylor. Butch and I enjoyed a special Christmas Eve celebration with them and other family members, gathering around a beautiful live Christmas tree, playing dirty Santa, eating, and enjoying each other’s presence.
We could not stop looking at and admiring that beautiful tree. It reminded me of when I was a young girl growing up, and everyone had real trees. You don’t see many live Christmas trees in homes today.
It was decorated so beautifully with ornaments of their children, Kelly and Amanda’s photos when they were little children (grown kids now).
All of the food was superb, including new dishes I had not eaten before. It was a great celebration with family and friends.
I want to thank Mrs. Irene Beasley for reading my community column. Mrs. Beasley is a sweet, wise, young lady. She turned 102 years on June 23, 2023. I spoke with her in December. She said to me, “I am 102.5 now.”
She still drives, but short distances. She reads the paper every week and says, “I can still count.” God bless this sweet woman of God.
Happy birthday to Ava Burton from the Johnsons and Hardmans, and to all January babies.
We are praying for all ill loved ones and for all churches and bereaved families.
