The Marble Valley Volunteer Fire Department would like to thank everyone for another exceptional turnout to its Annual Open House and Yard Sale event that was held October 5-7.
Members with the department stated that it was another awesome success and said, “The continued support and gratitude this community shows us continues to be mind blowing!”
As in previous years there was something for everyone with so many wonderful items being donated again this year. There was furniture of every kind, dishware, pots, pans, holiday items, exercise equipment, clothing, blankets, bedspreads, sheets, rugs, and a large amount of baby and children’s things.
It was just unbelievable the number of community members that donated items for our yard sale. Your generosity is instrumental in helping us to meet our yearly fundraising goal, because without you, there would be no event; thank you!
Marble Valley VFD also would like to thank the Make-a-Wish foundation through the America’s Thrift Store for accepting our donation of all the items left over from the event. It is wonderful to know that we were able to pass along some of the blessings that we had received.
Attendance at the event this year was astonishing again! We want to tell all the shoppers that attended our event “thank you” from the bottom of our hearts. Many of you not only made large purchases, but also donated. We hope you all enjoy the items you purchased, and thank you again.
We also want to send out a special “thank you” to Walmart for the donation of all the food (hamburgers, hot dogs, nachos, and chips) that we gave away free at this year’s event to celebrate the fire department’s tenth anniversary. Another special “thank you” goes out to Milo’s for donating all the tea and lemonade that we also gave away.
Our sponsor list this year is unbelievable. We ask that you all support these wonderful businesses that helped us have such a successful event this year.
Event sponsors are as follows: Walmart, Blue Bell, McDonald’s, Milo’s Tea, Harbor Freight, GFL Environmental, Alabama Splash Adventure, Heritage Freight.
Event drawing sponsors are: Ace Hardware, Advanced Auto Parts – Sylacauga, American Village, Applebee’s – Chelsea, AutoZone Childersburg, AutoZone Sylacauga, Bandit’s Bar & Grill, Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum, Barnes & Noble, Big Daddy’s Café, Birmingham Barons, Birmingham Zoo, Cabaniss Feed & Farm Supply, Cahaba Brewing Co., Carava Outdoors, Carrabba’s, Chick-fil-A, Majestic Caverns, Defy Extreme Air Sport Park, Dollar General, El Vaquero’s Mexican Restaurant, Home Depot, IKO Southeast, Lloyd’s Restaurant, Lori Darlin’s, Marble City Pharmacy & Gifts, Old Town Grille, Pet Sense, Piggly Wiggly, Publix, Ruby Tuesday’s – Alexander City, Sam’s Club, Serra Ford-Honda & Nissan of Sylacauga, Staples, Sylacauga Country Club, Talladega Superspeedway, Taziki’s, Tractor Supply – Chelsea, Tractor Supply – Childersburg, Vulcan Park & Museum, Wharf Casual Seafood, and Wright’s Tire.
We can have events all day long, but without the help of advertising outlets no one would know about our event. With that said, we would like to take a moment and “thank” them for their help in promoting our event again this year.
They are as follows: “The Coosa County News,” “The Daily Home,” “Sylacauga Today,” “280 Reporter,” and the Sweet Home Alabama Vacation Guide. Without these companies we would not be able to get the word out about our event. Thank you for your help!
Once again, thank you to everyone who assisted and shopped at this year’s event! You each made our Tenth Annual Open House and Yard Sale event a fantastic success! We thank you for your love and support, and the members of Marble Valley VFD enjoyed meeting and visiting with every one of you.
