Two men from the Rockford and Weogufka areas were arrested last month on multiple drug-related charges after law enforcement investigated a potential burglary.
On October 16, deputies Payton and Middlebrooks responded to the Weogufka area in response to a possible burglary in progress. After arriving on the scene they observed two individuals entering and exiting a shed on the property, as well as putting items from the shed in the rear of a vehicle.
The deputies made contact with the individuals, who were the driver and passenger of the vehicle. During that time they also observed the passenger placing what appeared to be a clear glass pipe in his front left pocket, and deputies recovered the pipe from the passenger.
Both the driver and passenger were secured and detained at the scene. During a search of the vehicle deputies found a cigarette pack containing a powdery substance that appeared to be methamphetamine, as well as a pill.
Ultimately, 23-year-old Dylan Jakob Hay of the Rockford area was arrested on October 16 on the charges of possession of a controlled substance (meth), possession of a controlled substance (oxycodone) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His total bond was set at $12,500 for all three charges. He was released on October 31 to another jurisdiction.
Gregory Scott Blankenship, 54 years old of Weogufka, was arrested the same day and charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His bond was set at $7,500, and he was released on bond the same day to await trial.
