The 2023 Central Homecoming festivities enjoyed record breaking turnouts for multiple events. This year’s parade featured 25 entries, including first responders, athletes, Homecoming representatives in fancy cars, and class floats. This year’s theme for the class floats was “Take the Tigers for a Ride,” with the tenth grade class float winning with their outer space ride.
The home stands were packed with students and community members, and parents filled in the visitor stands. Central alumni started arriving at Keith Bullard Stadium early to set up tents representing the various graduating classes. The end zone was packed with Central alumni returning to support their alma mater. Pre-game activities included a performance by the Pride of Coosa County band and the Central Elementary Homecoming Ceremony.
Congratulations to Jada Gaddis, Central Elementary School’s 2023 Homecoming Queen.
The halftime ceremony included the Central High School Homecoming Ceremony with McKay Kelley being crowned as Central High School’s 2023 Homecoming Queen and Elijah Richardson being crowned as the 2023 Homecoming King.
The culminating event for halftime, a fireworks spectacular, brought massive cheers from the crowd. The Homecoming activities continued into Saturday with the PTO sponsoring a Homecoming dance at the Belyeu Gymnasium. The dance also had a record number of 130 attendees, and the students had a blast. The dance even had a large number of seniors attending, with some of them commenting that they did not want to miss their last opportunity to attend a Homecoming Dance. Special thanks to PTO president Maressa Ware for all your hard work in organizing the dance and providing pictures of all the Homecoming events.
