A young woman from Wetumpka was arrested last Tuesday on drug-related charges stemming from a five-month-old case.
On April 27, the Sheriff’s Office dispatch received a call regarding a stolen vehicle in the Equality area. Upon law enforcement officers responding to the scene, they observed two individuals next to the vehicle that had been reported stolen from Elmore County.
During the investigation it was discovered that Elmore County had warrants on the two individuals, Isabelle Irene Hall and Justin Dale Ward.
While conducting an inventory of the vehicle, upon searching it deputies found drugs and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
Elmore County initially arrested Hall and Ward for first-degree theft of property relating to the stolen vehicle.
Hall, 19 years old, was recently released from Elmore County Jail and was then arrested by the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office on October 3.
She was charged with possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamine) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Her bonds were set at $5,000 for the controlled substance charge and $2,500 for the paraphernalia charge, making her total bond $7,500. She was released on bond on October 5 to await trial.
As of press time Ward remained in custody in Elmore County, but Coosa County has placed a hold on him for the same two drug-related charges.
Anyone who observes or suspects illegal activity is encouraged to report it to the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office at 256-377-4922 or online at www.coosacountyso.org. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
