Special to the News
Last Saturday, October 7, the Goodwater Volunteer Fire and EMS Department was proud to promote two of its members from firefighter to firefighter/EMT during a badge pinning ceremony held in Goodwater.
Firefighters James Dawson and Jimmie Braun recently completed their EMT certification training and were rewarded for their hard work. Saturday’s ceremony was a special time to celebrate the two men’s dedication to their community and continued learning in the first responder field.
Approximately 40 people attended the badge pinning ceremony, including District 1 County Commissioner John Forbus.
Goodwater EMS Captain Brian Ward, Chief Elmore Unbehant and Forbus led the ceremony, with Brother David Vick, who has 33 years of experience in the fire service, ending the ceremony with some words of encouragement and a prayer.
