To someone who always puts others first: Today we put the spotlight on them and their accomplishments. Happy birthday to Mom and Dad, “precious are their names.”
This is how County Commissioner Brandon Davis and his brothers, correctional officer Mr. Kevin Davis and professor Mr. Courtney Davis, describe their parents, Apostle Wayne and Minister Brenda Davis, when they honored them with a grateful and elegant birthday celebration held at the Community Life Center in Kellyton on September 16.
Master of ceremony was their son Courtney, who did a fantastic job. He mastered this event so well and kept everyone’s attention on the party that no one had time to get bored. Their eyes were focused on Courtney’s actions of all the great things that took place, welcoming of guests, welcome and occasion by the three Davis’ brothers, opening prayer by Pastor Devolkio Wilson, words of encouragement by Bishop Demetrius and Lady Griffin, mother and sons dance, words of love, Prophetess Tonda West, video presentation/tributes by the Davis brothers, and reflections of love by family and friends.
The delicious food was served by families and friends with great hospitality! All I can say is “bravo” to these Davis brothers. Courtney did it, Kevin spoke it, and Brandon showed it. If you were there you would know.
Commissioner Brandon Davis is more than just a commissioner for Coosa County District 3. He is a true commissioner, and especially for his mother’s and father’s birthday celebration.
Actions speak louder than words. Officer Kevin Davis is usually a quiet person; however, not at his mother’s and father’s special day. He spoke a word that touched everyone’s hearts concerning them. And Professor Courtney Davis, “I said it all.” It was very obvious that he did it all for the love of his mother and father.
Their mom and dad gave wonderful closing remarks and gratitude to everyone. Now this is what God has to say about Apostle Wayne and Minister Brenda Davis, “They shall be mine, says the Lord of hosts, on the day I make them my jewels, and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.” (Malachi 3:17)
“You shall also be a crown of glory in the hand of the Lord.” (Isaiah 62:3)
“Now, therefore, if you will indeed obey my voice and keep my covenant, then you shall be a special treasure to me above all people, for all the earth is mine.” (Exodus 19:5)
This is what Butch and I have to say to the Davis’s – “Trials and circumstances have visited you, and sometimes we question the narrow way of God, compared to the wide way of the world. However, He still calls us to be peculiar people, precious in His sight.”
Apostle Wayne and Minister Brenda, you are precious and special, and we love you to the moon!
“Real love never dies.”
