Empowered to Conquer hosted its Second Empowerment Assembly at Central High School. The goal of the assembly is to provide students with emotional and social support through mentoring sessions offered by community members.
This year, 22 teachers, administrators and community members invested their time in facilitating a session on fear and anxiety. Students were honest about the small and even big fears they have and were challenged to lean into mental health support, friends and community to Conquer those fears. As a result, 140 students signed up for Limitless Mentoring.
Brittany Hogan, Central graduate and founder and executive director of Empowered to Conquer, said, “We can’t wait to walk alongside these courageous students this school year.”
