With school back in session, BridgeWays of Coosa County has some programs returning for the school year, including the Kids’ Night Out on Friday evenings every other month and School’s Out Day Camp for times when school is out.
The Kids’ Night Out and Parents’ Night Off is a three-and-a-half hour event where children in pre-kindergarten through fifth grade have the opportunity to play games, participate in activities and socialize with friends, all while giving parents the night off to have a date night, do chores, or just enjoy a quiet relaxing night at home.
The first session is tonight with a Back to School Bash from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Back to School Bash will be done a bit differently and will be held at the swimming pool at Poplar Point Camp in Hanover.
Drop off is between 5:30 and 6 p.m. at the pool. Pickup will be between 8 and 8:30 p.m., also at the pool.
Children will have supper at poolside, and the cost is $12 for the event. Parents are asked to send their children in their swimsuits and to not forget to send a towel.
The camp is located at 191 Poplar Point Camp Drive, Rockford, off of County Road 34 near Hanover. The swimming pool is at the top of the hill behind the large green gymnasium.
Those interested in registering for today’s Kids’ Night Out may do so online at bridgewayscoosa.campbrainregistration.com.
Other Kids’ Night Out programs will be held October 27 with a Halloween party, December 15 with Christmas caroling, February 9 with a Valentine’s Day dance, and April 19 with Celebrate Spring.
Drop-off is at 5:30 p.m. with pick-up at 9 p.m. for those events. The cost is $12 per child, per night, with dinner and activities included.
Scholarship assistance is also available to help with these programs. For more information, contact Lynn Anne Castleberry, BridgeWays regional director, at 813-363-0495.
School’s Out Day Camp is also for youth in pre-kindergatern through fifth grade, with this program allowing children to enjoy a “broad range of enriching activities and making new friends, all in a safe and secure environment.”
The session dates for the day camp are October 13 and 16, November 20-22, December 20-22, January 2-5, January 15, February 19, and March 18-22. BridgeWays will be closed the week of Christmas.
Drop off for the day camp is at 7:30 a.m. with pick up at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $20 per child, per day, which includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, and activities.
For the School’s Out Day Camp there is a sibling discount, and scholarships are also available.
