A Deatsville man was arrested Tuesday on a drug-related charge following a report of erratic driving.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, on August 8 Deputy Payton was on routine patrol when he received a call regarding a reckless driver on U.S. Highway 231.
Payton responded and made contact with the driver on Highway 231 at County Road 8, near the Pentonville community south of Rockford. He initiated his lights and pulled over the driver.
According to reports, he observed that the driver was acting suspiciously, and because of that suspicious behavior he asked the driver to exit the vehicle to conduct a field sobriety test.
After patting down the driver, identified as Tristan Taylor Elmore, Payton asked if there was anything inside his vehicle. Elmore stated that he did have fentanyl in the vehicle.
Elmore, 27 years old, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance for fentanyl.
His bond was set at $8,000, and he was released on bond the same day, August 8.
