God can take a little and make it into a lot.
For example, God fed thousands with a child’s five loaves and two fishes. He miraculously multiplied what seemed to be a small amount to feed the masses.
When the disciples were contemplating how the crowd could be fed, Andrew spoke up and said there was a lad there with five barley loaves and two small fishes. Andrew then asked the following question: “But what are they among so many?”
Jesus took the loaves, prayed a prayer of thanksgiving, then distributed them to the disciples, and the disciples then distributed them to the 5,000 men that were set down. He did the same with the fish. They ate to their fill, and there was much left over.
If we can give what little we have to God, He can multiply that, as well.
My wife went on a mission trip to Haiti before we were married. She experienced a miracle of multiplication while on the trip.
Prior to going, they told her they would be visiting an orphanage and asked those making the trip to bring some clothing items to distribute at the orphanage.
My wife brought what clothing items she could for the orphans. She couldn’t fit too many items into her packed out luggage.
Once at the orphanage, they began to distribute the clothing to the youngsters.
My wife had about 15 to 20 items she had obtained for the trip. That was fine and dandy — she did what she could.
The only problem was that there were more than 50 orphans there. My wife didn’t know what to do. The last thing she wanted to see was some of the them being left out with no clothing items.
She was caught between a rock and a hard place. She had to begin distributing clothing, but she was sure she’d run out and then feel both horrible and embarrassed.
What to do? In the natural, she could have asked, “But what are these 15-20 clothing items among so many?”
It would be a legitimate question. But God is able to do exceeding abundantly above what we can ask and even conjure up in our minds.
God is not limited.
My wife had no choice but to begin handing out the clothing items. Here is where the miracle came in. God understood the situation and acted upon it. As my wife (Tammy) began distributing the clothing, something amazing occurred.
She started handing out clothes, and she didn’t stop anytime soon. She went around to the young children, handing each a piece of clothing.
She kept going and going, and the clothes kept coming and coming. Before she was done, some of the children had received three clothing items, and all of them got at least two.
There are no explanations other than God multiplied the clothing. My wife has shared that testimony over and over to God’s glory. It was an amazing experience.
God is able to multiply bread and clothing.
