The Buzz
Buzzy the Buzzard
Excavators, loaders and dump trucks, oh my! Has the good witch landed in Rockford?
They are paving streets and leveling parking lots. Does somebody actually listen to an old bird, whether they admit it or not? It seems that there are a few projects going on. But don’t turn off Highway 22 toward the post office or you will have to turn around.
I am so glad to see some progress in this area; it will really make a difference in a lot of ways. Maybe attract more business; maybe more stops by people passing through; maybe more safety for the people that live and work here.
I think the post office started something when they paved and striped the dirt track around the building. It is nice to not have to park in the wrong direction on the street; especially since they raised the parking fines. So the county and the town are having to play catch up.
In my recurring theme of “what we need” I had a list going. But I was so shocked and excited on Monday I forgot all about it. Something about a truck stop with parking, diesel and access to repair parts like fuses, grease, tires… and access to take-out food from the Crossroads or the RRR. With off-road and no-ethanol fuel.
I am not out to change the world, just improve and add a few necessities. After all, there’s no place like home.
Love,
Buzzy
