The Coosa County Sheriff’s Office is planning a co-ed softball tournament fundraiser to be held Saturday, August 26, beginning at 10 a.m.
The tournament will be to help raise funds for Cancer Outreach and Community Hope, or C.O.A.C.H., in Coosa County. C.O.A.C.H. demonstrates “neighbors helping neighbors” as an organization that provides financial assistance to cancer patients and their families who live in Coosa County, meaning that funds donated to the organization directly help someone within the county who is fighting cancer.
The fundraiser tournament will be held at the Alexander City softball fields, and all teams are welcome. However, the tournament is limited to 16 teams, and there is a $200 non-refundable registration fee to be paid in order to participate.
The Sheriff’s Office stated that rules and regulations for the co-ed tournament will be provided at the time of signing up.
There will be monetary prizes awarded for first through third place teams, with the anticipated payout reflecting a 16-team tournament. First place will win $1,000, second place $600 and third place $200.
Those interested in participating are asked to contact Jennifer Tindall at the Sheriff’s Office at 256-267-2488 by Friday, August 18. Team rosters must also be turned in by August 18.
