Wayne Romaine Gallops

Last Monday a Sylacauga man was arrested on drug-related charges following some erratic driving behavior.
While on routine patrol a deputy observed a vehicle driving in the oncoming lane. The deputy initiated his emergency lights, and the vehicle eventually came to a stop.
Because of the driving behavior and the way the driver was acting, the deputy asked the driver if he had any drugs or weapons in the vehicle. After running the driver’s information, it was discovered that he was wanted in Escambia County.
Because of having warrants in another county, Escambia said they would extradite the driver, identified as 60-year-old Wayne Romaine Gallops of Sylacauga.
Gallops’ vehicle was inventoried prior to being towed, and deputies found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.
As such, Gallops was then arrested by Coosa County and charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
His total bond for both charges was set at $7,500, and as of press time he remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
