A second arrest has now been made in connection with the 2019 cold case murder of Andre Davis of Kellyton.
On June 26, 36-year-old Tyreese Omar Hicks of Sylacauga was arrested by Coosa County investigators. He was charged with capital murder in connection to 29-year-old Davis’s murder.
Hick has no bond set and remains in custody at the Coosa County Jail in Rockford awaiting trial. No other information regarding the investigation or his arrest was available at this time.
Hicks is the second individual to be arrested in connection to Davis’s murder. On May 4, 42-year-old Leadam Quintez Kelly of Goodwater was arrested and also charged with capital murder relating to Davis’s death.
Kelly also has no bond for the capital murder charge and likewise is also still in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
The case stems from a homicide that occurred on February 3, 2019, the night of Superbowl Sunday. The report initially came into the Sheriff’s Office of what was believed to be a car wreck.
However, once law enforcement officers arrived at the scene on County Road 111 west of Goodwater that Sunday night, they discovered it was in fact a homicide.
Davis was found away from his vehicle and lying near the wood line when first responders arrived at the scene. His February 2019 death was Coosa County’s first homicide since December 2017.
Four years later, two arrests have been made to help bring the case closer to closure, and as of press time it was unknown whether more arrests may be pending.
