Four weeks of summer learning and fun wrapped up last week for Central Elementary students. Thank you to Mrs. Bee for sharing pictures of STEM camp.
Pictured are Alizabeth Cowart and Elena Robinson, as well as Karissa Crowe, Adrianna Cowart, Staceyona Ervin, and Yarnaisa Morgan who created a Longitude Locator for finding planets and stars.
Also pictured are Laura McCain, Adrianna Cowart and Evan Walker (holding his parachute design) who participated in the Seed Dispersal Challenge. Students learned about the importance of wind in dispersing seeds which helps with reproduction, as well as viability by ensuring plants have space to thrive.
Students then created different seeds and then compared the distance they dispersed when using a fan to simulate the wind. Thank you to all our summer learning teachers for making our summer camps both educational and fun.
