Thank you to Mrs. Shannon White, STEM coordinator, who shared pictures of students in the K-Second in STEM camp who have been learning about pirates and then used the Engineering Design Process to complete the Boat Challenge.
Students were challenged to build boats using common materials and then test whether they would successfully float. If not, students would use problem solving skills to make adaptations to their boats until they successfully floated.
Pictured is Chrix’Zavion Lykes-Edwards, Mason Wood and Bryson Smith. Also pictured is Adrianna Cowart and Ian Howell.
Mrs. Shannon White also shared pictures of the visit by Matthew Reams to Central Elementary summer camp. Mr. Reams shared information with students about farm life.
He also introduced his goat, chicken and baby chicks to the students. We appreciate all our community members who are willing to invest time in our students’ academic growth.
