A call regarding an unwanted person on property in Kellyton ultimately led to the arrest of a Goodwater man on two drug-related charges.
Deputies Payton and Middlebrooks responded to a call of an unwanted person at the Alabama Graphite plant on McClellan Drive in Goodwater. Upon arriving at the scene, deputies located the individual walking out from among the buildings.
They proceeded to make contact with the individual, 32-year-old Romie Lamar Judkins of Goodwater, and detected the odor of marijuana coming from him. In conversation with him, he admitted to having marijuana in his possession.
They then conducted a search and found a bag of methamphetamine on his person. Judkins was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance and second-degree possession of marijuana.
His total bond was set at $7,500 for both charges, and as of press time he remained in custody at the Coosa County Jail awaiting trial.
