The Town of Rockford received a grant in the amount of $5,000 from The Coosa Valley Resource Conservation & Development Council, or RC&D.
The RC&D Council is made up of local people working together to solve local problems and to help their local communities grow and prosper. The RC&D offers grants yearly to assist in their mission.
The grant monies the Town of Rockford received were used to update Rockford’s Park. The town updated the volleyball court with sand and plastic borders and also purchased a new net.
In addition, Rockford added a new game, Ga Ga Ball, to the park. The Ga Ga Ball court is used to play a form of dodge ball.
Rockford reports that it has seen a large increase in the use of the park since installing these additions. The park is open daily until dark. Come out to the park and join in the fun.
