A man and woman were arrested last Wednesday on felony and misdemeanor assault charges, respectively.
Sheriff Michael Howell reported that Deputy Payton responded to a call at Pine Tree Road in Kellyton. According to reports, two individuals were in the yard of a residence there when a vehicle with multiple people in it pulled up to the residence.
The individuals in the yard became victims in the case as Danielle Mullens, 34 years old of Dadeville, got out of the vehicle and assaulted one victim.
Zackery Lumpkin, 21 years old of Alexander City, exited the vehicle and began assaulting the male victim, who suffered a laceration to the top of his head, a knot on his head and a knot on his thigh. Howell stated that the investigation showed that Lumpkin had assaulted the male victim with a baseball bat.
Both victims were transported to Russell Medical Center in Alexander City for evaluation and treatment.
Lumpkin was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, a felony, while Mullens was arrested on the charge of third-degree assault, a misdemeanor.
The bond for each was set at $2,500. Both were arrested on June 7, and both were released on bond the same day to await trial.
