Congratulations to these 2023 high school graduates and cousins! Pictured from left are Gavin Chapman, Wrian People and Jada Birmingham.
Union Square’s Neighborhood Watch meeting is Monday, June 5, at 6:30 p.m.
A great graduation celebration was held on Saturday, May 27, at Coosa County Life Center for three special people, all in the family! These special graduates are Jada Birmingham, Wrian People and Gavin Chapman, who are cousins and the great-grandchildren of deceased Pastor Spencer and Lady Louella Goggans Sr. All of these children graduated with great honors and “all A” students, with Jada having earned the highest honor, Summa Cum Laude, from Benjamin Russell High School in Alexander City. Jada will attend UAB in Birmingham. She is the daughter of Deacon Randall and Mrs. Jackie Birmingham.
Wrian graduated from Victory Christian High School in Pell City with great honor. We knew as a little boy that he would do it. Some called him “Professor” because he was that smart. Wrian will attend Birmingham-Southern College. He is the son of Mr. Sean and Mrs. Wendy People.
Gavin graduated with high honor, earning many medals of great accomplishment and athleticism, including Gentleman of the Year, etc. I cannot name them all; there are too many. Gavin will attend Morehouse College in Georgia. He is the son of Mr. Scav and Mrs. Crea Chapman.
We are very proud of these young children and wish them all the best in life. God has so much for them.
“Eye has not seen,; ear has not heard, nor have entered into the heart of man, the things which God has prepared for those who love Him.” – I Corinthians 2:9
I say to all of you, “Love God,” for He is love, and without Him you cannot have love or give love, and always love yourself! Don’t let anyone take “you” from “you.” God wonderfully made you, and don’t you ever forget that.
Look at your life every day, not the mirror, and say, “I am beautiful. I am love. I am next to God, and no one can move me. I am a leader.”
Jada, Wrian and Gavin, here are three words for you, “Stay with God!” Congratulations, and may God bless and keep you always. It was a wonderful celebration – a real family affair, including me.
“God’s leaders are men and women who allow Jesus to lead them.”
Let’s pray for all our graduates, wherever they are. Pray for all churches, all homes, hospitals, and nursing homes; Pastor Wilbert Johnson; Madison Hill; and Mr. Jim Morton.
We wish Pastor Jeff and Lady Tina Fuller many more happy years of bonded love. They celebrated 24 years of love and happiness on May 29. What a sweet couple to know. Congratulations, lovebirds (smile).
I want to thank Pastor Mary Fernandez for such nice compliments of my column in “The Coosa County News.” I am very grateful to you. You are a precious lady. May God keep you in His care.
“People are just as happy as they make up their minds to be.” – Abraham Lincoln
