In a special evening program, seniors, family, friends, and faculty were beaming with pride for our seniors. The night started with scholarship awards. The highest individual recipient of scholarship money was valedictorian, Zyriah Meadows, who was awarded $270,700 in scholarships. Thank you to the numerous organizations who sent representatives to award our seniors with their scholarships. Seniors were also recognized for their academic excellence, including 3.5-plus grade point average, Outstanding Student and Most Improved Student in each subject, and Top 10 seniors, including Valedictorian Zyriah Meadows and Salutatorian Makenna Sanders, Cade Shurette, Aaliyah Murray, Daeja Cook, Nyahah Odem, Grace Calfee, Emily Garcia, Alissa Cosby, Nathn Mathis, and Abigail Veitch. Top 10 seniors also had the opportunity to present a faculty member with a Golden Apple Award in appreciation for what they do. The Teacher of the Year for twelfth grade was awarded to Mrs. Johnson.
The first place winners of the senior Escape Room Game received a framed copy of the U.S. Constitution, and the first place team in the Alabama Stock Market Game out of 284 teams in Central Alabama, Quin Gilbert, Chacara Long and Damarkus Sandlin received their award checks. Five senior Student Government Association members received their medals for a combined total of 217 hours volunteered in service to their school and community. The individual Highest Service Award for a senior went to Kieasia Tuck. Everyone could feel the Cougar pride in the Central Gym as numerous seniors received awards.
