A spring favorite for students is the annual Field Day which was held last Friday for Central Elementary students. The event was moved indoors because of inclement weather, but the students still had a great time by the looks on their faces. Thank you to Central High School SGA members for assisting with the Field Day events. In the afternoon Friday the weather cleared up, and both Central Elementary and Central High School students were able to enjoy the annual Blue and White spring scrimmage game.
Central Cougars’ football players have been working hard in their spring practices and workouts, and both teams had a strong showing during the scrimmage. Everyone, players and spectators, are looking forward to regular season play in the fall.
Saturday provided an opportunity for students and families to return to Central Coosa for the Color Me Healthy Family Festival sponsored by the Children’s Policy Council. Various organizations including AltaPointe, the Coosa County Extension Office and Limitless Groups brought representatives to share with attendees opportunities and advice on healthy lifestyles. In conjunction with the Family Festival, the Central PTO, under the direction of Maressa Ware, sponsored a Rainbow Run in the morning to kick-off the Family Festival. Thank you to everyone who put in countless hours providing an opportunity for our students to make memories and learn about and experience a healthy lifestyle.
