The Central sixth and seventh grade band and the Central High School Concert Band impressed the audience with their Spring Concert. Sixth and seventh grade band members played “Power Rock,” “Defender of Time” and “Slip and Slide.” The Concert Band played “Cedar Valley March,” “Into the Storm,” “Childhood Hymn,” “On Wings of Glory,” “Northridge Overture,” and “Shipping up to Boston.” For the last piece, the two bands combined to give the audience a taste of what they will hear in the fall as the band plays at Central football games. Band members who participated in the Elmore-Coosa County all county honor band and Talladega-Coosa-Clay all county honor band were recognized. It was a particularly special night for senior band members, Makenna Sanders and Skylar Newman, who were recognized for their years of contribution to The Pride of Coosa County Band. There was also a table set up with memorabilia and pictures celebrating the seniors’ years of service. Thank you to band director, Mr. Daryl Ingram, for training and leading our band members, as well as band booster president Mrs. Shemeka Ross for MCing the concert.
