2023 SOLICITATION FOR WEATHERIZATION and HOUSING REHAB CONTRACTORS
The Community Action Committee Inc. of Chambers-Tallapoosa-Coosa is soliciting Contractors to contract with this office for bidding privileges with our Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) and all other housing programs we offer in Chambers,
Tallapoosa, and Coosa counties.
New Contractors not already on CACCTC’s qualified contractor list must complete the necessary application and provide proof of the following information:
- A Building Performance Institute Approved Weatherization Training Certificate and demonstrate proper Weatherization contractor core
competencies (WAP only)
- Proof of General Liability Insurance ($1,000,000 min.) which covers all aspects of Rehab and WAP work
- Proof of Workman’s Compensation Insurance
- State of Alabama Business License
- Alabama Home Builders License or General Contractor’s License
- Certified Lead Renovator’s certificates and Lead Renovation Firm Status
Additionally, contractors must possess and demonstrate proficiency with the Blower Door Air Tightness System and use said equipment on every unit to reach targeted air flow rates and conduct proper pressure testing. All Contractors must be capable of providing dense-pack wall insulation measures at a 3.2 psi or higher compaction. A good quality infrared camera will be needed to check for voids in the installed insulation negating call backs which will be at the Contractor’s expense. Gas fitters, Electrical, HVAC and Plumbing subcontractor licenses and insurances will also be required (WAP only).
Please submit requests for application to CACCTC at 170 South Broadnax Street, Dadeville, AL 36853 Attn: Mr. Kevin Walker. All requests must be received by Friday, May 12, 2023, at which time we will cease taking further requests.
