Lady Cougars blow away Talladega by nine runs

The Lady Cougars cruised to an easy victory over Talladega 10-1 last Friday. The Cougars opened up scoring in the second inning when Kali Snell singled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. The Cougars notched three runs in the fifth inning. Reagan Cardwell and Reese Lee all drove in runs in the frame. Brynlee Hawthorne earned the victory in the pitcher’s circle for the Cougars. The righty allowed seven hits and one run over six innings, striking out seven. Anna Casas started the game for the Cougars in the circle. Casas lasted one inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking one. The Cougars collected 13 hits. Hawthorne, Cardwell, Abigail Hyatt, and Snell all managed multiple hits for the Cougars. Snell, Hyatt, Cardwell, and Hawthorne each collected two hits to lead the Cougars. Alissa Cosby led the Cougars with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with seven stolen bases. The Cougars were sure handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Emma Whaley had the most chances in the field with nine.
