Earlier this month a Rockford man was arrested on two charges following a shooting incident.
Sheriff Michael Howell reported that on March 16 deputies Scott and Mitchell responded to a call in reference to shots being fired on Alabama Highway 22 in Rockford.
The investigation determined that Richard Marbury, 51 years old, had a shotgun in his possession and got into an argument with the victim.
Marbury allegedly shot numerous times at the victim. At one point he hit the victim in the back, but Howell said the victim did not need medical treatment and was not transported to a medical facility.
Marbury was arrested shortly after midnight March 17 on the charges of second-degree assault and two counts of reckless endangerment.
His bond was set at $9,000, and he was released on bond later the same day to await trial.
Anyone who observes or suspects illegal activity is encouraged to report it to the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office at 256-377-4922 or online at www.coosacountyso.org. Anonymous tips are also welcome.
