Limitless Groups have been working with ninth grade Central students in Mrs. Phillips’ career preparation class for the past eight weeks developing soft skills and helping them discover a career path that will be best for them. Thank you to Limitless Program Director Shanais Strissel for leading the in-class sessions with the students.
As a culminating activity students have to prepare a presentation in which they showcase their strengths and share their future goals and then present the information to a panel of judges. Brittany Leonard Hogan, Central graduate and founder and executive director of Empowered to Conquer, Limitless Groups said, “The students did a great job passionately conveying their hopes and dreams to the panel of judges.”
Thank you to the following community and school representatives who served as judges, Hester Hamby, director of the Coosa County Career Tech Center; Keslie Garrett, Coosa County schools career coach; Carolyn Beeker from Valley National Bank and United Way; and Courtney Layfield from United Way. The judges are pictured with our students who presented this semester.
Also pictured is Brittany Leonard Hogan sharing with the students after their presentations about how proud everyone is of them and how much they have accomplished over the past eight weeks. Every student received a gift bag, and the grand prize winner, Aniyah Horton, received a $200 gift card. Thank you to PTO president Maressa Ware for providing pictures.
