Central band members had the opportunity to audition for the Talladega All-County Honor Band. Band members who audition have to play five scales and sight read a sheet of music they have never seen and then play the music for the judges.
Makenna Sanders played the tenor sax, Skylar Newman played the baritone sax, and Mae Sugg and Tatum Larrabee played alto sax. Clarinetists were Abbigal Mizzell and Corrie Haynes. On the trumpet were Jacob Stevens and Ethyn Tison. Arabella Leford played the trombone, and Lukas Lackey played the french horn.
Congratulations to all the band members who were chosen to play in the Talladega All-County Honor Band. Special mention to Abbigal Mizzel and Corrie Haynes who were chosen to play in the top Red Band.
The band members received participation medals and all earned chair placements, as well. Most importantly it was a fun experience for our band members, and it gave them the opportunity to play with a large group of skilled musicians with more advanced music which challenged them to play at a higher level, which helps them improve their own skills. Thank you to the Pride of Coosa County band director, Mr. Daryl Ingram, for providing our band members with this opportunity.
