Central Elementary received a special visit from DeCorey Hale, author of “The Numbers Ranch” and “Ebenezer – The Sneezer” during Read Across America Week. Mr. Hale visited several classrooms ranging from kindergarten-fifth grade and discussed the process of creating and publishing his books. He also shared his personal history and his purpose for becoming an author. The students were then treated to a reading by Mr. Hale. Central Elementary counselor Mrs. Pope, who arranged the visit said, “I am so thankful for community leaders like Mr. Hale who always find a way to spread positivity and knowledge.”
Other guest readers who treated our students to read-alouds for the conclusion of Read Across America Week were PTO president Maressa Ware, Ms. Suzanne Scott and Mrs. Sheila Ward. Thank you to everyone who went above and beyond to make the week special by encouraging a love of reading in our students.
