The cold weather did not keep fans away as they came out in big numbers to cheer the Lady Cougars on in their opening game, which resulted in a shutout win against Talladega Central.
Junior Brynlee Hawthorne started off on the mound recording three strike outs, and freshman Anna Casas was the closing pitcher with two recorded strike outs. Junior Abigail Hyatt, pictured, led the team on offense with three RBIs and the only recorded triple, while junior Kali Snell led the team with three runs. Thank you to Coach Elliott and Coach Weeks for all your hard work, as well as the parents who helped prepare Doyle Field for the opening game. We are looking forward to an exciting season for the Lady Cougar softball team.
