Central band members had the opportunity to audition for the Elmore/Coosa All-County Honor Band. Band members who audition have to play five scales and sight read a sheet of music they have never seen and then play the music for the judges. Makenna Sanders on tenor sax, and Abbigal Mizzell, Corrie Haynes and Skylar Newman, all clarinetists, were chosen to play in the Elmore/Coosa All-County Honor Band. The Elmore/Coosa All-County Honor Band performances were Friday from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. – 6:30 p.m. at Wetumpka High School. The band members received participation medals, and all four earned chair placements, as well. Most importantly it was a fun experience for our band members and gave them the opportunity to play with a large group of skilled musicians, which helps them improve their own skills. Thank you to the Pride of Coosa County band director, Mr. Daryl Ingram, for providing our band members with this opportunity.
