Alpine woman dies in Coosa County crash

A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:22 a.m. today, November 5, has claimed the life of an Alpine woman.
Shantia P. Lee, 23, was critically injured when the 2003 Cadillac STS she was driving left the roadway, struck several trees and overturned. Lee was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was ejected.
Lee was transported to Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery, where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased.
The crash occurred on Coosa County Road 511 near Broken Arrowhead Road, approximately four miles north of Goodwater, in Coosa County.
Nothing further is available as troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
