The 2026 Central Homecoming festivities were enjoyed by students, parents, community members, and alumni who set-up tailgating tents for game day in the end zone.
Friday afternoon’s parade; enjoyed by both elementary and high school students, as well as visitors; was led by the Coosa County Sheriff’s Office.
The parade included the football team, cheerleaders, dance team, band, Homecoming representatives in fancy cars, and class floats.
Multiple people commented that this year’s floats were some of the best ever. The overriding theme for Homecoming 2026 was “Disney, Where Dreams Come True.”
The senior class float theme was “Lilo and Stitch,” the junior class float theme was the “Princess and the Frog,” the sophomore class float theme was “Alice in Wonderland,” the freshmen class float theme was “Toy Story,” and the eighth grade class float theme was “Monsters, Inc.”
Congratulations to the juniors who won the class float competition with their “Princess and the Frog” float.
Central alumni displayed the “Once a Cougar, Always a Cougar” spirit as they returned to Keith Bullard Stadium to support their alma mater.
Pre-game activities included a performance by the Pride of Coosa County band under the direction of Daryl Ingram and the Central Elementary Homecoming Ceremony. Congratulations to Yarnasia Morgan and Kameron Coleman, Central Elementary School’s 2026 Homecoming Queen and King. Thank you, CES Homecoming activities sponsor Katie Martin.
The halftime ceremony included the Central High School Homecoming Ceremony with Heidi Phillips being crowned as Central High School’s 2026 Homecoming Queen and Kenyon Richardson being crowned as the 2026 Homecoming King.
Thank you to CHS SGA Homecoming activities coordinator, senior Kaylyn Gould; as well as the SGA sponsor, Jacob Moon, and CHS Homecoming Representative sponsor Justine Clark; for all your hard work helping make Cougar Pride memories for our students.
